We arrived in Michigan on the 4th in time for Alivia and Shari to join the Kregels and Towers for the Grand Rapids fireworks...Alivia was so tired that she actually fell asleep just before the grand finale.
We were blessed to stay 5 days at Shari's parents' vacation home near Lake Michigan. The kids loved the beach and besides swimming and playing in the sand, we also introduced Alivia and James to horseback riding and they loved it.
A welcome visitor for Josiah
Josiah's legs are sure to be strong with having to maneuver this load.
We were without air-conditioning for a few days during a mid-90F week and this quick rain shower was a welcome treat.
Josiah has become a pro at catching a nap wherever he happens to be...looks like it's time for a bigger car seat!
Alivia turned 4 while we were up in G.R. on a business trip with Stephen so was delighted to have a birthday full of "too much fun".

James dressed as a bee-keeper and a bee at the same time...hmmm.
A special treat of the day was a visit to Grandpa Kregel's office and getting to join him for lunch.
Nothing could make a birthday more perfect for Alivia than time in a pool made possible by the generosity of the Kregels' neighbors

Shari, her sister, Alivia and cousins, Bryan and Ashlynn ventured out for an early morning adventure blueberry picking.
Wow...these look good enough to eat! The blueberry patch lost a little money this day as these two didn't have a whole lot to show for the time we spent there except for big smiles and full tummies.
The birthday continued back in Indianapolis with Grandpa and Grandma Reed joining us for dinner.
Alivia wrapped up in an ultrasoft blanket and sporting a new hat. Can you tell what her favorite color is?
Alivia may have gotten a lot of attention the past week, but James managed to ensure he wasn't forgotten. :)
