Time marches on...

Victoria will be two months this week and has successfully earned the adoration of her whole family.  She is such a peaceful contented baby which has made our adjustment super easy (as easy as life with 4 little ones can be) and is to be congratulated for keeping up with the example her siblings set in sleeping through the night starting at about 7 weeks.

Josiah just brings us smiles to watch him go about life.  He is always observing and usually seems to have a plan for mischief.  He's quick to try the things he has observed so mixed with his age of not quite 2, it can sometimes be a recipe for disaster.

James continues to be fun-loving and carefree...so much so that we're really hoping our potty-training efforts with him are rewarded one of these days with the desire on his part to be dry all the time. :)  He is quick to help and loves to figure out how things work.  When James is around, questions abound.

Alivia turned 5 the end of July and I am thrilled for the opportunity to continue to teach her at home as we have decided to homeschool her for kindergarten.  She already has a good start toward reading from doing preschool together this past year and she loves helping James be part of what we are studying too.  She is an invaluable helper to me and loves to spend her free time creating things or finding ways to entice her brothers into joining her world of make believe.

Happy 5th birthday Alivia!  We had a great time honoring this special little girl all day and are so thankful to God for His gift of her to our family!  She has a heart tender to God and we pray her desire for God continues to grow with each new day!

The birthday girl blowing out candles on her birthday cookie following her specially requested meal of steak, corn on the cob, melon and broccoli.  After a fun-filled birthday including a couple hours spent at a pool, she was one tired girl and ate so much for supper and was too excited to open gifts that she declined dessert....I think that's a first!

We have had to be proactive to stage some photo opps with Victoria as otherwise in the course of a day, it might never attain the highest "priority". :)  When we do it though, she is an easy subject to photograph.

Mommy & her boys...I'm told all the time how quickly these days will pass and I am truly enjoying each day with both its joys and challenges.

We've depended on both our A/C and sprinklers to keep cool this summer and the kids figured out they could fill this storage tub with water from the sprinkler to make a small pool...

...even Josiah who is a little leary of water was thrilled to try this out.

Josiah has now graduated to his "big boy bed" in James room.  James was thrilled to have a roommate and although both have gotten less sleep from their "after bedtime" bonding, the transition has gone much better than we could have hoped.

James making a "Little Red Riding Hood" cape work as the perfect attire to be a superhero cowboy.

Alivia and her cousin, Bryan sporting their Colts jerseys.  Being that we are separated by 4 hours makes time together all the more precious.

"Hmmm...I wonder what these next weeks will bring???"

Victoria is so precious (as all your kids) but it is fun to see her getting bigger. :)
